Alver Golden Chlorella

Alver Golden Chlorella S.A. is a Swiss company that is addressing the growing demand for tasty low impact, high protein foods by developing a range of healthy, tasty and sustainable foods with the micro-algae Golden ChlorellaTM.

Golden Chlorella has 63% protein (meat has 25%) and is rich in potassium, magnesium, zinc and vitamin B.

Chlorella is mostly known for its immune system boosting and for detoxifying the body especially from heavy metals. Other benefits include brain maintenance, eye and skin health. Also known to promote weight loss and lower blood sugar/cholesterol.

Alver Golden Chlorella is truly distinctive and innovative because of its neutral taste and lovely golden colour. This has been achieved through a natural fermentation process. It is vegan, 100% natural, gluten and lactose free.

Golden Chlorella can easily be added to all foods without disrupting consumers’ eating or cooking habits. This unique product is effectively taking micro-algae from a complement to an easy-to-use daily ingredient that will improve both our health and carbon-footprint.

Golden Chlorella is fermented to insure the highest levels of micro- and macro nutrients. The production is highly sustainable requiring 44x less water, 41x less arable land and emits 36x less CO2 than for the equivalent of meat protein.

Alver Golden Chlorella was co-founded by Mine Uran, the former Head of Protein R&D at Nestlé who has spent the past 20 years searching for the ideal non-animal protein, she has lead teams at DuPont and at Unilever.

Greenastic

Kitro

Every day there are millions of tons of food being wasted. Two thirds of all food thrown away is said to be edible food that could have been avoided. This avoidable food waste occurring along the entire supply chain has detrimental impacts on the environment. Reducing avoidable food waste would prevent unnecessary greenhouse gas emissions and help mitigate climate change.

This is what inspired the creation of KITRO which is committed to bringing innovative solutions to food waste.

KITRO is the first fully automated food waste management solution for restaurants and canteens. By combining image processing and deep learning technologies with a hardware solution we are able to capture relevant information on the food being thrown away. Based on this we provide bi-weekly reports outlining the findings, empowering users to make informed decisions and optimize work practices leading to a reduction in food waste, food cost and their negative environmental impact.

KITRO’s goal is to change the way that food waste is handled and bring back the value of food, so it is appreciated and not wasted.
